When J.B. Gambrell, one of the greatest statesmen in the history of the Southern Baptist Convention, founded The Baptist Record in a Clinton residence in 1877, could he possibly have foreseen the crucial position his fledgling news journal would one day occupy in the lives of Mississippi Baptists?The Baptist Record is wholly owned and operated by the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board.
